In the next handful of weeks during the summer, we will be taking a look back at this past season and recognize those that have achieved high success by us at Rusch's Bowl. We will also be recognizing those that have broken as well as set new records by us this season. There will be no particular order we will do these. Our first annual spotlight will be on Mark Weyland.
Throughout this season, Mark bowled fulltime in the Tuesday Night Mixed league, Wednesday Night Mixed Spring league, and part time in the Monday Night Men’s league at Rusch’s Bowl where he became one of the most successful bowlers at Rusch’s and in the Association during the regular season. Mark started the season off on fire, averaging just over 245 for the first couple of weeks in the Tuesday Night Mixed league. On November 17th in the Tuesday Night Mixed league, Mark finally hit perfection when he fired a 300 game which would finally put his name into the Rusch’s history books. His most notable night would come one week later on November 24th, where Mark fired games of 280, 299, and a 263 for an 842 series. This set would be the highest series put together this season out of the 22 800’s we had. The following Monday on November 30th, he would continue his hot streak in the Monday Night Men’s league by firing a 794 series, just missing his second 800 series. In the Wednesday Night Mixed Spring league, his most notable night was yet another 794 series on April 28th, once again just missing the 800 series marker. Mark continued to score very well by us having numerous opportunities to have even more honor scores in the process.
Mark’s excellent season was shown off Rusch’s turf after taking a respectable 3rd place finish for the Greater Fox Cities Association Open Tournament for the singles scratch division. He ended the season with a very impressive 236.86 in the Tuesday Night Mixed league being first on the average board for that league.
We would like to congratulate Mark “Sparky” Weyland once again on his outstanding performance this season, his performance will be looked at as one of the best at Rusch’s Bowl and in the area for this past season. Congratulations Mark!
